Combine the exact rune quantity and, where required, a gem. The result is one named rune. No armour or weapon goes into this craft.
Combine a Common (white) base item with a recipe’s runes. The Cube consumes those ingredients to make a named item such as Enigma, Spirit or Lore.
You need access to the Horadric Cube from Lord of Hatred. Recover it during Doorways to the Distant Past, then follow The Horadric Cube quest to inspect it in Temis. For an item craft, keep a suitable white base that your class can equip. An Ancestral Common base produces an Ancestral runeword; item power comes from the base.
The hidden recipes are community-documented. This page keeps their sources below, so you can check a recipe against the current game before spending a chase rune.
Use this sequence for the upgrade table below. The example makes Ber from two Lo runes and one Grand Topaz.

The grid: where your runes, gem or white base go.
Transmute: the action below the grid that performs the craft.
The recipe book: the book icon. Hidden recipes on this page are entered through their ingredients.
Open your map and select the Temis waypoint. Walk to the Horadric Cube. Click the Cube to interact with it and open its crafting window.
Remove ingredients left over from another recipe. Hidden rune recipes are recognised from what you insert, so you do not need to find a “Ber” entry in the recipe book.
From your inventory, move 2 × Lo into the Cube. With a mouse, drag the items into its grid; if the game shows a transfer prompt, you can use that action. Check the quantity in the Cube, not just the number owned.
Move 1 × Grand Topaz into the grid. Read the full gem name: a Chipped or Flawless Topaz is a different ingredient. Do not add a base item for this rune upgrade.
Compare the contents with the recipe. A hidden recipe may show ???; that alone does not mean it is wrong. Once the ingredients are correct and the action is available, click Transmute.
Move the resulting Ber into your inventory. Start the next recipe with only its listed ingredients. For an item such as Enigma, add its white base as well as the runes before clicking Transmute.
Controller: highlight the Cube and use the displayed Interact prompt. Move focus to your inventory, select each ingredient, then use the displayed move-to-Cube action. Highlight Transmute and use its on-screen button prompt. Button icons depend on your platform and bindings; follow the labels shown in your game.
Each row is a separate transmutation. “3 ×” means three copies of that exact rune. Gems are consumed too. On a phone, swipe across the table to see the result.

Keep any runes your final item needs before upgrading your remaining copies. “Rarer” here describes the chase ingredients; it is not a claim that every rune in this table belongs to the game’s yellow Rare tier.
The final craft is 1 Common chest armour + 1 Jah + 1 Ith + 1 Ber. Enigma changes Evade to Sorcerer’s Teleport at a cost of 33 Primary Resource. Choose your base carefully before spending the runes.
Run the Lo-to-Ber recipe three times, using 3 Grand Topazes in total.
Combine two of those Ber with 1 Grand Sapphire. Put the third Ber aside for Enigma.
Add one Common chest armour and these three runes to the empty Cube. Click Transmute.
6 Lo + 3 Grand Topazes + 1 Grand Sapphire + 1 Ith + 1 Common chest armour
This is a total across several crafts, calculated from the upgrade table; do not put the entire shopping list into the Cube at once. If Jah or Ber drops for you, skip the steps you no longer need.
Missing Ith? Combine 3 Eth. Starting from Tir instead takes 9 Tir: make three Eth first, then combine those into Ith.
Ancestral describes the base’s quality; it still needs to be Common/white. A Legendary chest is not a substitute. You do not need a three-socket chest to perform this Cube recipe.
Use one Common/white base of an allowed type plus one of every rune pictured. Repeated pictures mean repeated ingredients: Infinity needs two Ber; Phoenix needs two Vex. Check that your character can equip the chosen base.

Weapon names in the last column are base types, not permission for every class to equip them. The result follows the base you supply. These are documented Season 15 recipes, including game-data references; do not assume every Diablo II runeword exists in Diablo IV.
Empty the grid and rebuild one exact recipe. Check each rune name, quantity, gem tier and base type. For runeword items, use a Common/white base. Do not add extra gear, gems or tuning materials. A recipe that does not match the listed ingredients is a reason to stop and check, even if another Cube action is offered.
These are hidden ingredient combinations. Place the correct base and runes directly into the Cube rather than selecting a random Unique craft. A “???” label can be normal for a hidden recipe.
Use the Horadric Cube for the fixed upgrades and runeword items on this page. The Jeweller’s Rune Crafting menu also has Mythic Unique crafting, but that is a separate system with its own material costs. It is not the Enigma chest recipe above.
Undercity and the seasonal Waking Nightmares are documented rune sources. Greater Tribute of Harmony runs in the Undercity are a way to pursue rune rewards. Drops are random; completing an activity does not guarantee a specific Jah or Ber. Keep eligible white bases visible in your loot filter while farming.
Treat every transmutation as spending those ingredients. The table documents upgrades, not a reverse recipe. Keep the Ber for your final Enigma separate from the two Ber you plan to consume for Jah.
Recipe cross-check: 4 October 2026. Community findings can change with hotfixes; use the current in-game ingredient requirements if they differ.
